Two Book Retreats

Nature and its Artist

“Darkness” – a Lenten woodcarving

This carving is based on the statement in the Gospel of Mark, “…and darkness was over the land until the ninth hour…”

This is for an exhibition at Christ Presbyterian Church for the Lent season.

I wanted too reflect from my environment. The scene is based on a view from Lake Monona in Madison, WI.

There will be a second piece for the Easter exhibition that follows.

About Me

“…the universe is before our eyes like a beautiful book in which all creatures great and small are a letters to make us ponder the invisible things of God.” Here I want to explore the Two Books: the World around us and the Word within us. I am an artist and a writer, and recently retired from pastoral work. My name is Dave.
